A new statewide waste composition report developed by Burns & McDonnell suggests there is more Minnesotans can do to recycle and reduce climate change. The study, sponsored by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, reveals that Minnesotans are discarding a large amount of recyclable materials.

Brian Lindstrom, PE, DCEP, has joined Burns & McDonnell as the Director of Commissioning Services. Lindstrom will be responsible for national expansion of Burns & McDonnell's existing commissioning services. He is based in Chicago and will be working with all of Burns & McDonnell's practice groups nationwide.

Instead of vying to bring home a blue ribbon, the top 20 teams competing in the "Battle of the Brains" are aspiring to walk away with a bigger prize — $50,000 for their schools and the opportunity to design and build the next Science City exhibit alongside local engineers. The top 20 proposals are up for a national public vote through Nov. 14 to determine the grand prize winners.

Steven M. Tredinnick, PE, CEM, has joined Burns & McDonnell as Senior Project Manager for the company's OnSite Energy & Power Group. Tredinnick will be located with the OnSite Energy team in Burns & McDonnell's Chicago Region, focusing primarily on medical center, airport and university clients.

Burns & McDonnell is adding more than 40,000 square feet of office space at its existing location in Houston. The added space is needed to accommodate up to 550 employee-owners as demand for the firm's engineering and construction services is projected to remain strong.
