Burns & McDonnell is expanding its presence in New Jersey with a lease of newly renovated office space in Morristown, New Jersey. At the end of October, 45 employee-owners moved into offices in a historic building at 10 N. Park Place. The employee count in Morristown is expected to double in the next two years.

Mason Elementary and Pleasant Ridge High School are the winners of the third Burns & McDonnell Battle of the Brains, one of the nation's most unique STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) competitions. The Burns & McDonnell Foundation distributed $155,000 in grants among the top 20 finalists.

Judges surprised 20 student teams in the Kansas City metro area to reveal they were finalists in the third Burns & McDonnell Battle of the Brains competition. A record 5,300 students representing 520 school teams entered the challenge, which is one of the nation's most robust STEM competitions.

Burns & McDonnell today announced that Atlanta Vice President and GM Arnold Olender will retire in January 2016. He will be succeeded by Oko Buckle, who currently serves as regional manager of electrical transmission and distribution engineering services for clients throughout the Southeast.

Burns & McDonnell is teaming with Skanska USA and Ecco III Enterprises Construction to design and construct a new 720 MW combined cycle power plant in Wawayanda, New York. Engineering design of the CPV Valley Energy Center is underway and construction expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2015.
