Burns & McDonnell hired Lucas Rice in September 2013 to lead an expanding Global Facilities team in the Southeast. But only a few weeks into his new role, Rice, a major in the 48th Infantry Brigade in the Georgia National Guard, was called up for deployment. With his safe return this month, he returns to his leadership role.

To celebrate 25 years of offering engineering, architectural, construction and environmental consulting services directly from its St. Louis metro office, Burns & McDonnell invited hometown Schlafly to park its beer truck outside the firm, so senior leaders could hand out a six-pack of beer to each of the office's nearly 200 employee-owners.
