Aviation Facility Inspection & System Evaluation
Location: St. Louis
Client: Lambert-St. Louis International Airport
Completion Date: 2005
Burns & McDonnell performed the inspection and system evaluation of building/hangar 42. This is a 160,000-square-foot facility owned by the City of St. Louis. Project scope included inspection of the building envelope, including the roof, electrical system, HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, sidewalks, architectural systems and parking lots.
Burns & McDonnell used a proprietary inspection format that included the use of photos to document existing conditions and show specific problem areas. The assessment resulted in design of the renovation of the mechanical, electrical and roofing systems. Subsequent improvements based on the study were completed by Burns & McDonnell on a design-build basis.
