Hydraulic Model & Distribution System Analysis
Location: O'Fallon, Ill.
Burns & McDonnell is preparing a computer-generated hydraulic model and analysis of water distribution system in the Cities of O’Fallon and Fairview Heights, Ill., using Geographical Information System geographical database methods to map the system and prepare flow and distribution analysis for the Capital Improvements Program for 2005-2025. The report is examining the hydraulic capacity of the existing system, which is operated and maintained by the City of O’Fallon, and recommended improvements to the system. Analyses include forecasting future population growth, commercial and industrial usage, and future retail development while examining fire storage and flow requirements, peak demands during different times of the year, and deficiencies in the supply of water to particular parts of the system. Included in the report will be recommended distribution system improvements, pumping improvements, capital improvements such as storage tanks, and other suggestions for improved operations for 5-, 10- and 20-year demands.
