As organizations and community members face significant challenges during the coronavirus pandemic, Burns & McDonnell is providing additional resources and services to clients, communities and employee-owners throughout the U.S.
For Our Communities
Relief Funding: To bolster the support of those on the front lines providing critical resources to those who need it most, the Burns & McDonnell Foundation is donating $1.5 million to the United Way COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund. United Way has a presence in 95% of U.S. communities and is mobilizing to providing food, shelter and other vital resources throughout its network. During the past decade, our employee-owners have given more than $10 million to the organization through annual United Way campaigns.
For more than 30 years, United Way has been our trusted, go-to partner to support the communities in which our employee-owners live and work. United Way fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in each community by providing the resources and information unique to individuals’ needs. Our employee-owners’ desire to give back and empower others is the heartbeat of our firm and our Foundation. During this pandemic, we are committed to protecting and supporting the most vulnerable in our communities.
Matching Gifts Program: In addition to providing relief funding nationwide, the Burns & McDonnell Foundation is matching individual employee-owner donations, further supporting employee-owners’ ability to make an impact within the organizations and causes they are most passionate about.
For Our Clients
Critical Infrastructure Support: As the coronavirus pandemic is changing the way people live and work in the near term, there is a massive need to maintain the systems and critical infrastructure — from highways and manufacturing to reliable power and clean water — that will keep the U.S. moving forward. Our firm is currently working on nearly 13,000 projects that touch 16 critical infrastructure categories defined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Complimentary Consultations: As organizations face unimaginable challenges with critical projects and demands, we are now offering a new service, Burns & Mac On Call. This online program serves up complimentary consultation sessions with industry leaders from our diverse mix of professionals, including engineers, construction professionals, architects, planners, technologists and scientists.
The new service, accessible throughout the Burns & McDonnell website, allows visitors to connect quickly with an employee-owner through a chatbot. They will then be directed to the appropriate thought leader that can best answer questions related to project or organizational needs during a consultation session.
For Our Employee-Owners
With more than 7,600 professionals around the world, Burns & McDonnell has set up a resilient business continuity plan that allows its workforce to deliver “business as usual” when the world is anything but normal.
To keep employee-owners safe, connected and supported, we have heightened safety measures, deployed the latest technology and enhanced communication.
As a 100% employee-owned firm, our unwavering dedication — to safety, our clients, our communities, our partners and one another — is paramount, now more than ever. We are striving to bring clarity, solutions and help during this time of uncertainty. I’m incredibly proud of our team and especially grateful for our employee-owners who are working tirelessly to continue essential infrastructure projects and deliver world-class client service.
