KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Burns & McDonnell, a 100% employee-owned engineering, construction and architecture firm, is announcing key leadership promotions to senior vice president and vice president following recent expanded leadership announcements and another record-breaking year. In 2023, the firm produced $7.4 billion in revenue. The firm also supported almost 22,000 projects, hired 2,400 people and grew to 77 offices globally.
“Our new senior vice presidents and vice presidents are great examples of our firm’s ongoing growth and achievement,” says Leslie Duke, chair and CEO of Burns & McDonnell. “Leadership development and creating opportunities are such important parts of our company’s success. These individuals help guide the direction of our firm, helping shape our present and our long-term future.”
Duke announces the following promotions to senior vice president:

- Scott Clark, general manager, North Texas Region, Dallas-Fort Worth
- Zach Herrington, area leader, Americas West Regions, Denver
- Rich Mahaley, general manager, Florida Region, Orlando
- Mark Swanson, general manager, Oil, Gas & Chemical (OGC) Group, Global
- Jon Wright, market leader, buildings, Global
To chart the course for a new class of leadership, Duke promotes 16 employee-owners into the Burns & McDonnell officer group as vice presidents:
