MUMBAI, India — Burns & McDonnell India (BMI), a part of Burns & McDonnell, has promoted five team members to the Principal Group, a senior level of leadership within the firm.

The Principal Group recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional technical excellence and outstanding performance, commitment and contributions to projects. This class of highly accomplished professionals includes leaders who continue to create client and project success every day.

Burns & McDonnell India was established in 2013 in Mumbai and has since expanded with the addition of an office in Bengaluru. Among its diverse services, the company offers engineering and project management, as well as business technology and consulting for chemicals, oil and gas, power, building solutions, environmental, and water. The firm was recognized as a 2023-2024 Most Preferred Workplace by Team Marksmen, along with being certified since 2017 by the Great Place to Work organisation.

Members of the 2023 class of Principals include:

Govind Gadiyar, Section Manager
Gadiyar brings over 20 years of experience in the environmental industry to his current position as section manager within the environmental resources management group. He is responsible for assisting in growing the sustainability services sector of the firm. He excels in sustainability framework development, including developing corporate sustainability policy, along with maintaining management and technical standards.  

Tushar Mahale, Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer 
Mahale is a key leader in the oil and gas sector, bringing his extensive experience and knowledge to the role. He continually embraces the firm’s employee ownership culture and consistently upholds the company's principles and values. His focus on safety, thoughtful leadership and technical excellence makes him an inspiration to many.

Ashish Keer, Chief Piping Engineer 
Keer is a chief piping engineer within the stress and layout engineering department. His responsibilities include conducting stress analysis tests and supporting engineering standards throughout his projects. He is passionate about mentoring team members by sharing his extensive experience and knowledge.

Girish Patil, Department Manager 
With nearly 15 years of experience, Patil has responsibilities that include managing structural projects for global clients. He possesses a broad range of technical, personal effectiveness and leadership skills. Patil works on a wide array of design projects, from pipe racks to bungalow and row houses.

Shivananda Puthran, Department Manager 
Puthran specializes in reviewing technical specifications for major electrical equipment. He manages a wide array of team members and frequently coordinates with clients and vendors to meet project schedules and maintain quality every step of the way.
