MUMBAI, India — Burns & McDonnell India (BMI), a part of Burns & McDonnell, has promoted three team members to the Principal Group, a senior leadership level within the firm.
The Principal Group has demonstrated remarkable performance, innovative thinking, exemplary leadership skills, and a steadfast commitment to professional development. Our principals have significantly impacted their teams and our organization.
Our principals embody our MacCulture Principles and serve as role models for others. Achieving the rank of Principal is both an honour and a responsibility, and we are excited to see how our new group of Principals will continue to make a remarkable impact on our organization and the communities we serve.
Burns & McDonnell India was established in 2013 in Mumbai and has since expanded by adding an office in Bengaluru. Among its diverse services, the company offers engineering and project management, business technology and consulting for chemicals, oil and gas, power, building solutions, environmental, and water. Team Marksmen recognized the firm as a 2024-2025 Great Place to Work, and the Great Place to Work organization has certified it since 2017.
“It is with immense pride and honour that we introduce our esteemed employees who have earned the title of Principal in 2024, a recognition they have truly deserved through their steadfast dedication. Attaining the rank of Principal represents an acclaimed level of promotion, achieved through thorough evaluations, careful reasoning, and strong endorsement from executives. Principals are a distinguished group acknowledged for consistently exceeding expectations, demonstrating an outstanding work ethic, and fostering productivity, profitability, innovation, and effective leadership.” ~ Chad Hotovec, CEO & Director – Burns & McDonnell India
Members of the 2024 class of Principals include:
Pramod Shinde
Assistant General Manager
Project Management, Oil, Gas and Chemicals
Pramod consistently embodies our MacCulture Principles, demonstrating exceptional commitment and determination. In alignment with our principle that 'Client Service Drives Our Success,' Pramod has showcased outstanding client relationship management. His invaluable industry connections have provided us with excellent recruiting referrals and ample opportunities for Burns & McDonnell India to further our branding as a top GCC in the Indian market.
He actively participates in the project management group's mentor mentee program and mentors two project engineers. Pramod is leading the learning and development initiative with a strong commitment to reskilling and upskilling PM/PEs and towards bettering our project team’s capabilities.
Pramod champions our Burns & McDonnell India culture and upholds these principles to the highest degree.
Rajesh Chavan
Assistant Engineering Manager
Oil, Gas and Chemicals
Rajesh Chavan personifies BMcD’s ‘employee-owner culture’. His professional goals are totally enmeshed with BMI’s vision/mission.
‘We make this place great’ is an idea he has been spreading amongst the team members of projects he led and now, as Assistant Engineering Manager, to the whole Oil, Gas and Chemicals engineering wing.
He is not someone who manages the people through diktats. He inspires people, strikes meaningful conversations and creates enabling conditions for our people to take out the best in them. In OGC’s July communication meeting, he showed thoughtfulness in naming and congratulating all those who went out to work for other Global Practices, thus keeping OGC's billability high. This is an example of how much he values people and also how he makes the people feel valued.
Vaishali Mistry
Department Manager
Substation, Transmission and Distribution
Vaishali exemplifies the MacCulture principles through her unwavering commitment to employee development.
She firmly believes in our employee ownership culture and leads by example. As one of our early hires, she joined Transmission and Distribution and prioritizes client success, driving all achievements with this focus.
Known for her ability to get things done and make bold moves, Vaishali also excels in building team camaraderie. Her contributions foster a positive and vibrant workplace, and she is dedicated to ensuring our clients’ success. Vaishali’s dedication to our MacCulture is evident in every aspect of her work, consistently upholding and advancing our values.
