KANSAS CITY, Missouri (April 23, 2020) — Burns & McDonnell has hired industry leaders Megan Reusser and Sara O’Dell to further diversify the firm’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) capabilities throughout the U.S. The professionals’ combined experience includes engineer-procure-construct (EPC) project delivery, front-end engineering design studies and project management for oil and gas projects worldwide.

“Our firm has supported power generation projects for more than a century and we will continue to uphold that long-standing commitment to strengthen our nation’s critical infrastructure,” says Chris Courtright, vice president at Burns & McDonnell. “Megan’s and Sara’s extensive experience bolsters our ability to address the complex needs associated with LNG modernization, helping our clients continue delivering safe and reliable energy to communities.”

Megan Reusser, Burns & McDonnell

With nearly a decade of technical and commercial process engineering experience, Reusser has supported EPC projects optimizing process design to lower energy consumption and decrease overall project costs. She specializes in front-end project development for LNG facilities, as well as gas processing, fractionation and floating LNG projects.

Sara O'Dell, Burns & McDonnell

O’Dell has nearly 15 years of EPC experience, , spending the last decade working on LNG projects using both liquefaction and regasification processes for onshore and floating installations. She also has extensive experience in sulfur recovery, gas processing and refining, and has spearheaded oil and gas projects, from concept to completion, around the world.

Built at the advent of LNG storage technology in the early 1970s, many LNG facilities nationwide are in critical need of upgrades and modifications, including the development of new LNG peak-shaving facilities — natural gas storage facilities that enable utilities to store natural gas in liquid form to meet potential demand spikes. Reusser and O’Dell will share a deeper look into LNG and insights into the current and future state of the industry during an upcoming webinar, Tuesday, May 5.
