HONOLULU, Hawaii — Anthony (Tony) Paresa, PE, joins the Burns & McDonnell Federal Group in the firm’s Honolulu office. Paresa brings more than 30 years of experience, including 28 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Pacific Ocean Division’s Japan and Honolulu Districts. As a project manager, Paresa will lead complex and highly technical engineering and construction programs for federal clients. “The addition of Tony, an accomplished and effective executive and leader during his time with the military, will add value to our clients in the Pacific and worldwide, as well as enhance our execution capabilities,” says Dave Barr, vice president and leader of the firm’s Federal Group. “We are committed to expanding our services in the Pacific and adding depth in Honolulu, a key location for our federal clients.”
Most recently, Paresa served as the deputy district engineer for Programs and Project Management with the USACE’s Honolulu District for eight years, the highest-ranking civilian in the more than 350-person district. In this role, Paresa ensured the successful integration and execution of all technical and environmental studies, facility design and construction. He managed an active portfolio valued up to $1.5 billion annually and his projects traversed the entire Pacific region.
“With his existing relationships and project execution experience throughout the Pacific, Tony will allow us to serve our clients with another level of focus and service,” says John Bothof, manager of the firm’s Honolulu office. “Tony will lead the effort to grow our offerings and support engineering and construction program capabilities throughout the Pacific.”
Paresa specializes in program/project management, design and construction. Project experience includes extensive military construction and civil works projects such as flood control, storm damage prevention, navigational projects, harbor repair, environmental restoration, removal of hazardous, toxic and radiological wastes from soils, munitions of explosive concern (MEC) remediation, stream stabilization, hospitals, airfields, barracks, industrial plants, training facilities, armories, groundwater pump and treatment systems, alternate water supply, and incineration of contaminated wastes.
Burns & McDonnell has been involved in military projects since 1942. Since then, the firm’s experience has expanded to include diverse projects and services for federal and military clients worldwide.
