HONOLULU, Hawaii — A testament to the firm’s rapid growth in Honolulu, Burns & McDonnell hosted a traditional Hawaiian blessing of its new 5,800-square-foot office space in downtown Honolulu.
The Honolulu office team gathered to bless the new location and celebrate the successful expansion. The new space, located in the Pacific Guardian Center at 733 Bishop St., Suite 2000, has space for 30 employees, plus three conference rooms and an employee breakroom area.
Backed by a nationwide network of more than 7,600 professionals, the Honolulu team supports a full range of planning, design, construction, fabrication, environmental remediation and commissioning services in support of federal, military, utility, commercial, and aviation clients across Hawaii and around the Pacific.
“I am so proud of our Honolulu team’s dedication to client success, which has led to our office expansion and ability to deliver more projects locally and internationally,” said John Bothof, Pacific operations director for Burns & McDonnell and leader of the Honolulu office. “It is wonderful to celebrate this next step in our journey of continuing to build a world-class team to serve Hawaii and the Pacific.”
Named #1 on Pacific Business News’ list of Hawaii’s Best Workplaces in 2020 and 2021, the team has placed a big emphasis on building a local team and hiring a diverse mix of local talent to support the critical infrastructure projects Burns & McDonnell delivers for its clients. The team looks to continue its expansion over the coming years, adding jobs in the Honolulu community and recruiting from the University of Hawaii.
Burns & McDonnell ranks #9 among the top 500 design firms in the U.S. and #1 in Power and Transmission & Distribution, according to Engineering News-Record. The firm also ranks #3 in Government Sector Engineering in Building Design + Construction’s Giants 300.
