KANSAS CITY, Missouri (June 20, 2017) — The American Subcontractors Association of Kansas City (KCASA) has named Burns & McDonnell as General Contractor of the Year for 2017 in the Large Contractor category. It was the first time Burns & McDonnell has been honored as General Contractor of the Year by the KCASA. The award was presented June 15 at the American Subcontractors Association of Kansas City annual industry awards banquet.
“We are honored and thrilled to have been selected for this award and particularly proud that we were nominated and voted on by local subcontractors and industry peers,” says Greg Carlson, vice president of commercial construction/design-build for Burns & McDonnell.
Burns & McDonnell entered the commercial construction market approximately 10 years ago and has completed a number of successful projects utilizing construction management and integrated design-build delivery methods. The firm focuses on commercial construction projects keying in on its ability to offer both design and build services all in house, all from one firm.
The American Subcontractors Association is a national organization with local chapters throughout the U.S. that promotes the rights and interests of subcontractors and suppliers in the construction industry. The award for General Contractor of the Year is given by local chapters to recognize the area contractor who is a top industry performer for construction site management, vendor management and excellent communication throughout the course of building a project.
