OKLAHOMA CITY (April 4, 2017) — Andrew Slotterback, who works with Oklahoma communities to deliver successful water and wastewater treatment projects statewide, has been selected as a member of the sixth class for the Oklahoma Municipal League’s Community Leadership Development (CLD) program.

Slotterback is manager of Burns & McDonnell’s Water Group for Oklahoma. He is based in Oklahoma City, leading teams that design water and wastewater projects for municipal and industrial clients.

With 15 years of experience as a project manager on projects in Oklahoma and throughout the country, Slotterback works to help clients address mounting infrastructure needs. Projects and services include those spurred by changing regulations, periods of drought, and effects of existing facilities reaching or exceeding their design lives.

The league’s CLD program, formerly known as Citizens Academy Leadership Training, gives elected officials, municipal employees and citizens an opportunity to learn and grow as community leaders. Class members share experiences, identify common challenges and make connections that allow them to pursue and develop solutions — now and in the future.

“I am excited to connect with citizens from across Oklahoma who are committed to building and sustaining strong communities,” says Slotterback, promoted earlier this year to lead the Water Group in Oklahoma City. “I hope to gain the knowledge and understanding of the issues directly impacting our communities and strengthen the skills needed to address these across the state.”

The exclusive leadership program provides unique hands-on training and educational opportunities for community leaders from across Oklahoma. Members are scheduled to participate in six separate sessions in various communities, beginning this Thursday and Friday (April 6-7) in McAlester.

Burns & McDonnell has worked across Oklahoma for more than 100 years. The company opened its Oklahoma City office in 2012 and, earlier this year, added a location in Tulsa.
