ATLANTA, Georgia — Burns & McDonnell, a 100% employee-owned engineering, architecture and construction firm, announced Maria Tice to lead the Construction Group in the Southeast Region. Tice will begin her role in January 2025, following the retirement of Don Chase.

Tice, who has been with the firm more than 10 years, will be responsible for the strategic development and overall leadership of the firm's construction business in the region, as well as growth of construction market segments across the Southeast.

“I'm so excited for Maria to flourish in her new role and to see the impact she'll make in construction across our region,” says Oko Buckle, senior vice president and general manager for Burns & McDonnell in the Southeast. “Throughout her career, Maria's eye for detail and her skills and experience with cost and project management have been invaluable for our firm.”

After spending several years in the field, Maria officially joined the Southeast team in Atlanta in 2019. In 2020, she earned her EPC PM certification for project management on engineer-procure-construct projects and has been integral to the success of many projects from coast to coast. Her experience in federal, manufacturing and aviation construction projects has provided a wealth of knowledge for the team she has led since 2022 as construction department manager.
