BLOOMINGTON, Minnesota — The Minnesota National Guard has selected Burns & McDonnell to provide comprehensive architect-engineer (A-E) services for the Air National Guard’s 133rd Airlift Wing based in St. Paul, Minnesota. The 100% employee-owned engineering, architecture and construction firm will provide these services through a five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.
The IDIQ covers planning, master planning, program support, and A-E investigative and design services, including engineering and construction support, environmental studies, investigations and documentation supporting the Air National Guard programs.
“Our team is thrilled to continue serving the 133rd Airlift Wing in our backyard in the Twin Cities,” says Mark Rivers, regional manager for the firm’s Federal Group in Minneapolis-St. Paul. “With our significant experience with the National Guard Bureau, we are ready to support the facilities and projects that sustain its mission.”
Burns & McDonnell has delivered over 25 projects for the Minnesota Air National Guard during the past 10 years. The firm’s Federal Group supports projects for the Department of Defense (DOD) nationwide, including designing hangars, training, and operations facilities for new aircraft beddowns like the B-21 Raider in South Dakota.
“The 133rd has a storied history with the Twin Cities, and I am proud we are continuing to support its mission,” says Gene Sieve, vice president and general manager of the Upper Midwest region of Burns & McDonnell. “We are focusing on providing operational efficiency and high-performance solutions that reduce operating costs for the Airlift Wing.”
Burns & McDonnell has supported the DOD’s mission with A-E services since 1942 and continues that support with over 400 projects completed for the DOD in the past 20 years.
