AUSTIN, Texas — Burns & McDonnell hosted a ribbon-cutting and open house to celebrate its past, present and future in Texas and to showcase its new office space in Austin. The event included a best practices panel focused on electrification throughout the state hosted by Burns & McDonnell local professionals. The Burns & McDonnell professionals in Austin offer clients a full range of consulting, engineering, architecture and construction services.

Burns & McDonnell boasts a rich history in Austin, dating back to 1922 when co-founder Clinton Burns consulted on an Austin water project — formerly known as the Thomas C. Green Water Treatment Plant. Later in 1948, co-founder Robert E. McDonnell was hired by the City of Austin to design the Seaholm Power Plant. Since then, Burns & McDonnell has continued to serve the Austin community by providing services to support the rapid growth in the region.

Burns & McDonnell hired its first Austin-based employee in 2013 and has since grown into a team of 70 employees supporting seven markets with plans to expand to 250 employees.
