ST. LOUIS, Missouri – Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry selected Thomas Tod, regional Global Facilities manager for Burns & McDonnell in St. Louis, Missouri, for its 2019 Leadership Missouri program. Leadership Missouri — the premier leadership development program offered by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry — is designed to enhance leadership skills of current and emerging leaders through an in-depth exploration of the state’s economic, political and social issues.
Tod has more than a decade of engineering and management experience, supporting critical municipal water and wastewater, commercial, manufacturing and industrial facilities across the U.S. He currently leads a team of 15 multidiscipline professionals supporting more than 40 projects for clients throughout the country. He is a registered professional engineer in Missouri, Ohio and Puerto Rico.
“Tom is a natural leader — he’s always looking for and identifying ways to make our clients and team members successful,” says Breck Washam, vice president and St. Louis office manager for Burns & McDonnell. “We’re proud that he is a part of this distinguished group and to see his dedication and experience continue to support the future of Missouri.”
Leadership Missouri consists of seven monthly, two-day sessions held in different regions of the state. While traveling to several Missouri communities and networking with the state’s top government, business and nonprofit leaders, participants gain a better understanding of the diverse industries and people that make up Missouri’s economy.
The 2019 program kicks off Tuesday, April 9, in Jefferson City. The first segment includes a reception at the Governor’s Mansion that will bring together Leadership Missouri alumni to welcome the 2019 class.
“Since its inception in 1990, Leadership Missouri has helped hundreds of Missourians to become better leaders,” said Daniel P. Mehan, president and CEO of the Missouri chamber. “Leadership Missouri graduates are serving all across our state as top business executives and managers, as well as in community and political leadership roles. The type of education and training provided in Leadership Missouri is exactly what we need going forward if we hope to succeed in realizing our vision for Missouri 2030.”
