PROJECT

GE Advanced Technology & Research Centre

Our team provided comprehensive architecture and engineering design and construction support services for General Electric’s Advanced Technology & Research Centre (ATRC) in the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) in Doha.

The 144,350-square-foot facility is part of the QSTP, which is an internationally recognized hub for technology innovation, research translation and commercialization, providing world-class infrastructure and services to business and higher education tenant organizations involved in technology development, application and support programs that foster startup companies. At the time of its inception, the center was designed to aid GE in providing technical training for its clients in the Middle East across business functions, including aviation, healthcare, energy, global research, oil and gas, plastics, and water technologies.

It contains a high bay for hands-on training on commercial jet engines that had the world's highest thrust at that time, as well as training laboratories and rooms, conference space, private and open office areas, a 150-student lecture hall with SMART seating, a distance learning lab, a cafeteria, an interactive learning center, and a 135-space parking garage.

At the ATRC, GE offers training sessions focused on overall familiarization of airline, flightline and maintenance crews, line maintenance, borescope inspection, troubleshooting, diagnostics monitoring, and fleet management. Additionally, it provides technical and mechanical services to airline customers through its On Wing Support program.
