We performed front-end engineering services to study the installation of carbon capture systems at existing natural gas compressor stations.
We leveraged standardization and repeatable design — cloned execution — wherever possible. Our engineering and development services included a cost estimate for amine-based post-combustion carbon dioxide (CO2) capture, cleanup, compression and storage options for use at a pipeline facility.
The study identified unique solutions to site-specific constraints and climatic conditions, including limiting water use with air cooling, and using hot oil instead of cooling water and steam. The goal of the study was to define the project’s conceptual designs, required plot space, utility needs, cost, overall schedule and risk, supporting the owner’s business case and selected path forward.
