Prefabrication of a wide variety of components for industrial projects is a big part of our self-perform construction services.
Historically, prefabrication was typically the outsourcing of production and assembly of components or materials by subcontractors or original equipment manufacturers, who would fabricate specified components and often preassemble them in modules or skids. These groupings would then be secured off-site until needed at the project location.
Today, more owners and general contractors are opting to move back to the tried-and-true method of having fabricated components for large-scale projects preassembled in climate-controlled shop environments.
AZCO Capabilities
Our AZCO construction subsidiary is our center of excellence for in-house prefab services, part of our complete portfolio of capabilities. With three prefabrication shops, including our 83,000-square-foot facility in Appleton, Wisconsin, AZCO can prefabricate critical heavy industrial components ranging from tanks and vessels to modular substations, medical units and solar arrays. Materials including carbon steel, stainless steel and alloys are all commonly used. The AZCO craft team can also assemble completed components, taking further advantage of the precision control achieved through this controlled shop environment.
With this investment in technology and a highly skilled workforce, we are among the industry leaders in comprehensive prefabrication services.
