With unwavering perseverance, Darcy Wagner has spent his entire career directing major capital projects that provide a stable, sustainable energy supply for communities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Darcy is passionate about building high-performing teams that achieve great results. As the manager of Burns & McDonnell Canada, he puts that passion into action, leading offices in Calgary, Toronto and Saskatchewan. Darcy has resolved challenges related to plant operations, maintenance, construction and development across the energy industry for more than 20 years. He specializes in the development, engineering, procurement and construction of power plants and infrastructure. His broad knowledge and experience in power spans natural gas and hydropower environments across Canada and throughout North America.

What are your favorite sports?

Being from Canada, hockey is my favorite sport. I have a fantastic wife and three kids — two daughters and one son — who are all active in competitive sports. They bring passion to their favorite teams, creating some friendly competition.

What excites you most when you look at the future of infrastructure and our organization?

I am excited about the energy transition underway. The investments that must be made to support this transition are very much aligned with our organizational capabilities and experience. The opportunities in Canada across multiple focus areas allow us to support our clients’ needs from end-to-end. Our investment in international markets, combined with planned infrastructure investments, presents numerous opportunities for growth.

How do you and your team make the world a better place?

Our teams are passionate about the work we do and the clients we serve. Our work enables our clients to make the necessary transitions to achieve decarbonization targets critical to future generations. Our team supports our clients and remains invested in giving back to the communities where we love and work. Our team has and continues to sponsor and support several causes, associations and charities for those most in need and to advance diversity, equity and inclusion. I am proud of the passion and spirit our team brings to our clients and communities.
