Oko Buckle brings energy and passion to every situation. An outstanding leader, his technical excellence, dedication to client success, and ability to inspire others have propelled our Southeast region to new horizons.
Growing up in Ghana as the 11th of 12 children, Oko learned from a young age to go after what you want. That tenacity has followed him throughout his career and pushed him toward success. Joining our company in 2006 as a senior electrical engineer, he was promoted to regional manager of the Transmission & Distribution Group in 2010. With more than 20 years of experience in the power delivery sector, Oko has led design, analysis and implementation of solutions in critical substation projects. In 2015, he opened our Orlando office and was named vice president and general manager of the Atlanta office a few years later.

What inspired you to pursue your career?
I wanted to help improve electric power infrastructure in Ghana, my country of birth.
What’s the coolest part of your job?
Providing the necessary resources and guidance to make my team the best, which in turn makes our clients successful.
What excites you most when you look at the future of infrastructure, the industries we support and our company?
Given the current state of infrastructure, I am excited about the major part we are and will be playing in improving it here and around the world. The industries we support are evolving and we get to evolve with them. The name Burns & McDonnell will be associated with some, if not all, of the most important infrastructure projects across the U.S.
