What inspired you to pursue your career?
I grew up loving to build things and drawing, so architectural school was naturally appealing. While I enjoyed my five years in architecture, I knew I didn't want to be an architect when I graduated. But I loved the “building” aspect of the profession, and so I ended up in construction. The joy of seeing a building come to life in front of you and being a part of it is immensely satisfying.
What’s one way you help those around you thrive?
I’m very engaged in the industry and serve as a board member of the California Chamber of Commerce as an example. Being a professional woman and a mother, I’m passionate about helping support the next generation of women leaders as they navigate finding the balance and joy in their careers and homes.
How do you and your team make the world a better place?
Everything we do here truly improves the quality of life of others. From the work we do in supporting ambitious state clean energy goals to restoration projects, we are intimately connected to improving the communities and environment we live in. Our teams in California are involved in local schools — to lead and participate in STEM activities, mentorship opportunities and education. We are also helping solve some of the harder regional challenges like homelessness and poverty by way of community partnerships with organizations like United Way.
