A born leader with tremendous drive and entrepreneurial spirit, Scott Newland has a strong vision for how to achieve success, with the results to back it up.

Since starting his career as an engineer, Scott has lived and worked in four cities, led and supported multibillion-dollar programs, and helped grow our company’s presence in the Great Lakes region to more than 750 employee-owners across four locations in less than a decade. As the Burns & McDonnell market leader for infrastructure, Scott oversees the firm’s Water, Transportation and Environmental Services groups, helping to leverage collective knowledge in related markets to create essential synergies and efficiencies.

What inspired you to pursue your career?

As a laborer pouring concrete and tying rebar during the summer of 1994, I had a positive interaction with the project engineer. I love construction and saw an opportunity for a great career within the industry. In addition, engineering runs in my blood, as my father is a mechanical engineer.

Helping customers solve problems and helping employee-owners achieve their full potential.

How do you and your team make the world a better place?

The solutions we provide our customers help make our clients successful. The culture we create provides a great place for rewarding careers for all employee-owners, and we pour our time and resources into the communities we serve.
